Urban Scape Tree + Garden is a locally owned and operated arborist, gardening and landscape design business based in the beautiful Hawkes Bay focusing on the urban landscape of Hastings, Havelock North, Taradale, Clive and Napier. So, why choose us?

Urban Scape is small boutique company where the needs of the customer are respected and every customer is valued. Our small team is led by Darryl Judd, a highly qualified and respected arborist of 35 years’ experience, ably assisted by his “Branch Manager” John Ciurlionis. John has extensive business experience leading teams providing professional, quality services to customers expecting a premium experience. After completing a New Zealand Horticultural Trade Certificate in the mid 1980s, Darryl travelled to the UK to expand his skill set. He studied at the Merrist Wood College which was the world’s leading training institution for studying the art of arboriculture gaining his N.C.H Arb with distinction. On returning to NZ, Darryl founded Guardian Tree and Landscape in the Manawatu in 1991 and he still maintains an interest in this company. He moved to the Hawkes Bay in 2015 to provide his specialised skill set to our urban scape. Darryl is passionate about the arboricultural industry and in the mid 1990s he assisted the NZHITO training organisation to develop the current National Certificate in Arboriculture. He was also instrumental in supporting the ITO to deliver training to independent arborists. Darryl is still involved as an assessor to the industry. Over the years, Darryl has kept up with industry best practice through continuing education and holds numerous New Zealand certificates in arboriculture such as the NZ Diploma in Arboriculture and the International Society of Arboriculture TRAQ qualification.
